IDK this team seems very average. I wouldn't throw money around yet if I was SJ.

a little too much too early, but I like getting Liljegren, idk for the 22oa pick,

Want to sign a top 6 forward, at least 1 top 4 dman
I do not love the idea of doing that AND taking on cap dumps as I want the young guys to be able to get lineup spots.

I doubt penguins are doing that lol. RR has had a very down year yes. But there is no reason to give up on him that quickly. He was 2 goals shy of 30 last year.....
I could see them doing Smith for FC though

An average NHL team and after the 2024 draft maybe the best prospect pool in the league. I’ll take that!

I took this from a Penguins fan’s AGM although I know fans have differing opinions.

I think with Liljegren being so young there’s a good shot he’ll provide more value than the 32nd overall pick.

I wouldn't take on Rakell unless a 1st was going with him. That's an awful contract and he'd just be taking a young players spot who deserves it more. It's like taking on Hoffman if hoffman had 4 more years

I’d push back on that. The Athletic’s player cards have Rakell’s value right at his $5M cap hit. And what younger players is he blocking? Am I missing the top 6 RWs in the Sharks system?

Well there's plenty of candidates who could push for a spot at training camp, including Gushchin, Graf, Zetterlund (demoting him after how well he's played this season is wild), Musty, Bordeleau, possibly Chmelevski, Also the most likely starting place for Smith if he made the team or Celebrini if Sharks land him. Again, there's 4 more years on this deal, that's the big issue for me. It's not about just next year

I liked that Penguin's trade the first time I saw it, until I realized that RR's contract had 4 years left.

I wouldn't cap dump Rakell. His 5v5 points/60 haven't much changed since last season. His drop in production comes from a) seeing much less time on the top line, and b) being hit particularly hard by the Pens' power play woes.
I don't see any reason for the Pens to sell low on Rakell unless they're 100% certain they can replace him without getting worse. I'm not sure they can.

Roy, Toffoli, and Lindholm are nice additions. Poulin would be a good gamble. Not sure Liljegren is worth that 2nd.

I looked at Lee as an interesting potential cap dump trade as well. I'm not sure NYI consider him a cap dump, though.

Nice ideas overall. Agree with others this might be too much too soon. Too many veteran forwards.

If the NYI are giving away Lee Anders there are a half dozen teams more interested than this offer from SJS

If we only have to pay a 2nd to dump Lee I'd be happy but I doubt Lou pays to dump Lee

those two are in no way comparable tears of joy tears of joy
In stats, play style, and off - ice issues. Not even close.
