Re-tool for each team if Florida wins the Cup, trade done on July 1st or shortly thereafter, sign-and-trade scenario for Ekblad and Verhaeghe, who relish the chance to take the Sens to the next level (since they just won the Cup they'll be OK with the move - you'll have to assume) around a core of Sanderson, Chabot, Ekblad, Stutzle, Pinto and Greig. The Panthers get a tad younger while the Sens acquire seasoned playoff veterans in Aaron and Carter. They swap goaltenders, Sogaard taking perhaps another year in the AHL or backing up Bobrovsky for 2024-25. Knight, I believe, has a higher ceiling still, perhaps, than Sogaard, and will take over the crease for Ottawa when he is ready. He can still be kept in the AHL without going through waivers, if the Sens feel he needs a bit more time there to round into form after so much time off the last few years.

Italicized names are RFA's or UFA's that need contracts for 2024-25.

Ott:

Korpisalo - Forsberg/Knight

Sanderson - Ekblad
Chabot - Zub
Kleven/Brannstrom - Bernard-Docker/Hamonic

Verhaeghe - Stutzle - Batherson
Greig - Pinto (RFA) - Giroux
TBD - Norris - Joseph
Kelly (RFA) - Kastelic - MacEwen

Fla:

Bobrovsky - Stolarz/Sogaard (RFA)

Forsling - Montour
Mikkola - Chychrun
Ekman-Larsson - Balinskis/Bjornfot

Rodrigues - Barkov - Reinhart
B. Tkachuk - Bennett - M. Tkachuk
Luostarinen - Lundell - Samoskevich
TBD - TBD - Sourdif

Florida's "second" line would be an absolute nightmare to play against. Ekblad provides the Sens with the elite right shot D they need.

Why would Verheaghe who's career has flourished I. South Florida, in this scenario just won the Cup there, want to leave? Florida has better weather, better tax policies, and he has the opportunity to go back to back?

It's stated in my post, this is a total "WHAT IF" scenario. I don't know why he would want to leave, he probably wouldn't. I'm not trying to argue he would (maybe could have made that clearer, but I thought the "you'll have to assume" part said that, and also thought the part where I said they "relish the chance to take the Sens to the next level" was cheeky enough). Sometimes I post trying to think about reality, sometimes I post (and say it if I do) purely for an on paper value assessment.

I read your post
There is zero rational reasoning behind that what if. Your post made the what if seem like it was the most natural thing next , and It makes no sense. You uproot your family leave the organization they believed in you and give up a legitimate shot at repeating to build up an organization you have zero ties to, and pay more in taxes while having to deal with an abysmal winter. Does any of that sound like a logical conclusion to you?

You didn't read the meaning correctly then.

You don't know me, and probably have never read any of my other posts either. Those who have read enough of my posts would have seen through it, you are taking every word at face value. I can't help you there.

You're focusing on things like uprooting families and paying taxes, I'm just trying to get a value assessment.

If that's too difficult for you to grasp, move on. Your ****ting on my post isn't having the desired effect smile

It's literally the Matthew Tkachuk package. Brady Tkachuk is significantly less valuable than his brother

I've suggested this a few times with Verhaeghe+Ekblad as a comp for Huberdeau+Weegar. Good job.
