Jets obviously decline I wouldn't even give a 2nd for that return. Schmidt isn't as much of a cap casualty as people think lil bro

Can understand. Searching for a short term cap dump. Tought the value was not far off, but it depends how much you consider Schmidt a cap dump.

Most I'd give to trade schmidt is a 3rd but if it's more jets can always just buy him out as well. Schmidt also has trade protection so I'd say a buyout is more likely than him dumped imo.

Easy no from Winnipeg. They aren't giving up a 1st and taking back a cap dump. Far cheaper to just buy Schmidt out if need be.

It is just a 10 team NTC could still be easily moved. If you are willing to give a 3rd. What’s the value of MTL players?

Idk not familiar with barron but seems to be pretty polarizing if he's a future top 4 guy or even a future nhl guy. Armia is also a dump but is worse as schmidt still has value as a fringe top 4 dman that can play both sides. So idk the value on mtl guys but jets don't really need either guy you included in this deal.

Thanks for the feedback. Personally, I think Barron still have NHL potential. Ceiling being top 4 but looking more like a good 5th D in my eyes. Some say is value is around a 1st. I don’t think so imo.

I could see why Armia could be considered a dump but he is having a strech of good games lately.

If Mony and Toff don’t re-sign in WPG, WPG doesn’t need forward depth?

Thanks for the feedback!

Helenius and Huuhtanen played well together in Jukurit. Struble could be a good and cheap option as 6-7th D. Farrell is also an intersting prospect. He is the kind of prospect that becomes a top 6 in TBL.

The Jets would buy out Schmidt before they trade assets to move him.

That said, they would be willing to eat half his contract and trade him for future considerations if you want a depth defenseman who plays both sides.

Not really as perfetti has been on the bench it would be nice to keep Monahan for 2c but isn't the end of the world if both leave. Bottom 6 already has lowry, nino, appleton, iafallo, namestnikov, kupari and Gustafsson. That's 7 players for 6 bottom 6 spots with connor Schiefele vilardi ehlers perfetti and hopefully Monahan. So no the jets don't need depth as it is the reason why mcgroarty decided to have 1 final season at Michigan.
