Rivalry Officially Dead

Created by: BrianCampbell
Team: 2024-25 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 17, 2024
Published: Apr. 17, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hawks- Wings make a trade this offseason to help both sides during their push to be competitive again.

I think Slaggert spends all year in AHL, Nazar gets a few games to start the year then gets sent down as well. Hawks sign a veteran winger as well, nothing splashy.

  1. Buchelnikov, Dmitri [Reserve List]
  2. Holl, Justin
  3. Husso, Ville
  4. 2024 7th round pick (NJD)
  5. 2025 3rd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Wings get to dump Husso, while hawks take a flyer on him as a backup to see if he can regain what he showed he was capable of in STL. Wings Dump Holl, opening cap space for new contracts and UFA. Hawks get a 7th Dman that they dont mind seeing on the bench, who has NHL experience to play with young guys if needed. Hawks get 2 picks and a decent prospect for taking cap.
DET
  1. Söderblom, Arvid
Additional Details:
Soderblom showed signs in the AHL but has never been able to put it together for a long stretch in the NHL. Change of scenery may be good for him. New goalie coach, playing in the same org as his brother. All things that could help him turn it around. Can be sent down to AHL to play behind Cossa.

Other than Dach at 4C, the lineup is probably close. Dach is a winger now. Mostly on the left side. Swap him and Donato and that's probably more accurate. Also can't see DelMastro and Kaiser as a pair. Holl is likely the 3RD. I'm good with that trade as well. I'm over Soderblom as a future piece. If the Wings are willing, I'd make this deal as the Hawks.

No thanks from Detroit. Not going to pay to dump players, at least not that much.

We probably run Husso back and hope him being healthy helps.
Holl we can buyout for cheap.

Detroit has zero interest in Arvid Soderblom, We have our future Goaltending in Sebastian Cossa and Trey Augustine. And we're not going up those pieces for a guy who's not any better than what we already have in net.
