So is Kähkönen I think this trade is just for the UFA signing rights like we did with Husso. I just don't get how NJ gets a better pick out of this deal though...

Yeah but I think there are about 4 maybe 5 teams Kane is considering and an early chance to sign him isn't going to work. If he wants to win another cup he will wait until most of the big name players have resigned or signed with new teams before he decides. I don't think it's as much about money as it is about his sone who turns 4 in November and will be able to understand and remember what winning a Stanley Cup is all about. I think Florida is probably the front NYR being next and maybe Las Vegas and possibly Toronto being in the mix. I don't know if he wants to play in Canada and like the other 3 teams on the list how they do in the playoffs and how the rosters look after free agency will play a big part in where he decides to sign. If the situation is similar to to this year I think Detroit and Buffalo are in the mix. At this point I really another cup is the priority, but I said that before he signed in Detroit and I was wrong,
