Edmonton declines. If they can get one of the top UFA RHD to sign in Edmonton they would trade Ceci for that return, but not Broberg.

Nice spot for a Reinhart or guentzel move some of the youth down a line, will be interesting to see how quick geekie comes.

Try at least 7 x $6,500,000 for Brett Pesce.

There's no way Edmonton trades Broberg for futures, You'll need to trade a piece that has similar value to him not picks.

Yeah great call. Make a splash with a player who will be really expensive but also guaranteed to play top of the lineup. Reinhart does make a lot of sense for sure. Guentzel I would guess is focused on getting paid fair but for a contender.

But Reinhart 6 or 7 x $11 or something massive and Florida unwilling to pay him Tkachuk money. You never know.

If I were Utah I would trade Lamoroux for Broberg. Much more certain upside. Way way safer floor. But I think EDM will settle for futures for Broberg in a cap dump type deal. Those kinds of teams won’t trade young assets. But if Broberg is going without a cap dump in mind I like the idea of a slightly younger (waiver ineligible) similar upside prospect.

I think this team has contender written on it, with 20 million in spending and move some draft picks that won’t have roster spots for anyway, quite a plethora of picks to go find whatever your looking for in trades, and top free agents have to visit Utah with that much cap room.

Not great timing though for that strategy to work because the cap increases are probably outpacing the RFA cost increases. Teams more likely to keep their RFAs. .

Montréal hit a nice window of opportunity there and still didn’t come out of it all that much better (yet). But yeah I agree Arizona is going to hit a really nice window five years out when Simashev and Lamoroux are key players. And I think they start rising up as soon as next year depending on the offseason.
