Canes pass. Not moving one of our better prospects to dump a top 4 defenseman.

I can still see the Flames and Canes being partners on an Orlov deal with a sweetener. It's just a question of cost IMO.

You guys could use the cap space to replace/resign Pesce and Skjei.

Wasn't following you guys closely enough. The point is that Teliving really liked Mangiapane here, and TOR could really use a puck hound that wins puck battles.

I expect the price to be around a 2nd with retention, but TOR doesn't have any, so it's a B- prospect and a 3rd.

I’m sure they’ll just hang on to Orlov while letting Skjei walk. Orlov is more or less luxury this year, and a stopgap between Skjei and Nikishin on the 2nd pair next year. Moving Orlov and bringing back Skjei doesn’t make much sense bc you’d have a logjam with Slavin/Skjei/Nikishin for a long time. Orlov takes a full time 2nd pair spot next year and we sign a cheaper 3rd pair LD.

That's fair, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Orlov move in the offseason and traded by another team at the deadline. Especially if that gives CAR the option to bring back Guentzel, while filling the D-core in free agency.

None of these are very good for Calgary but the Ottawa deal is absolutely terrible. A pending UFA in line for a big raise who can sign anywhere he wants and an expensive center on a long term contract who's so injury prone he's missed nearly as many games as he's played in the 5 years he's been in the NHL.

OTT would not do Norris at his current value for that yet alone adding chych.

Marstrom is 34, he has maybe, if hes lucky, 2-3 years left at being any good, his value will come as a rental in his final year of his current contract, were if he is good, CGY might be able to get a similar return ARI got for Kuemper, Darcy when COL won the cup.

Most anyone should pay for coleman is a 3rd, soon to be 33 YO, never had a 40 points season until this year, a GM would be beyond chiareli dumb to trade anything of significance for him

Norris has a lot of question marks about him, as well as a huge price tag. Trading for him is definitely risky, because he could remain a 40P player making 8M. He has a high ceiling, but one more bad year and you'll be lucky to trade him.

As far as Coleman, he has been great for a while, the production increase finally came after he managed to heal up from nagging injuries he had sustained in TB's cup runs. He brings exactly what OTT is missing, and so does Markstrom.

Anyways, I think Markstrom and Mangiapane will be on their way out in the off-season. One of Sharangovich and Kuzmenko will likely also move. Duclair will be a Flame as well as one of Orlov, DeMelo, Dillon, Roy, Martinez, Tanev, and Brodie.

IMO Chychrun has a value that's slightly less than Hanifin at the TD. As far a Norris is concerned, it's a risky trade, but it's a risk for OTT as well, gambling on both Coleman to sustain his production, and Markstrom to remain a top 10 goalie.

I wasn't trying to get max value for CGY. Simply looking for trades that fit my view of potential trades for the Flames this summer. Granted, I doubt Coleman, Andersson or Sharangovich move.
