Adams a Jack Adams

Initial Creation Date: Apr. 24, 2024

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
How much is enough to trade away for a bonafide Top6 forward who put himself in the assistance program?
Seems like Laine needs a reset - Jarmo, who signed him, is no longer there, so bring him in for a fresh start.
Package:
NHL Winger, NHL-Ready Prospect, a college prospect (RD with an NHL pedigree) and a 1st round pick. Maybe too much risk - but really want the guy.

Skinner buyout is a needed culture reset.

Focus on speed and agitation.
Rebuild your 3rd line.
Tell Krebs to be an asshole like he can and play agitating 4th line minutes.

IN ALL HONESTY - I had a reasonable deal on a roster I made and then realized I didn't login.
So had to reset, get rid of Kulich and the 1st, maybe it looks reasonable.

Feel like you guys are going to send a wellness check to my house for this roster.

Sure, when he’s healthy, which he become increasingly rare

And Skinner was a ppg player last year (35g-47a-82pts)
Laine just doesn’t have that in him with all the injuries

Sorry dude, but you’re quite literally the only Sabres fan who thinks this is a good idea

Oh it's 100% too much, the Sabres need to do something to bring in talent that is above 25 years old. I guess I'll go back to making rosters signing the same old guys, and not having fun once trying to trade for Patrick F'in Laine.

Well aware, I can live in a space where I can pretend he's not dragging this team down with a dumb contract for the next 3 years.

U can
U could also join me over here in reality

U do you though pal

Why don't you make a hypothetical Roster - your last one is from March 6.

Man, make a fake trade for a guy whose only ever scored 20+ and get roasted.

No.

Dude, have your fun
But when u out something out there like this, it’s gonna get roasted
And it’s like like it’s unwarranted
You’ve been given a BUNCH of reasons it’s a bad idea
U don’t have to be all butthurt about it

The one Columbus fan in the thread said that's the type of package it would take. Also that it's foolish.
Maybe a Prospect, 3rd rd pick conditional 2nd if he plays benchmark number of games.

Kuzy went for just a 3rd out of the program, he was consistently healthier however.

And that's why Laine is unlikely to move this summer. Columbus can afford to wait to see if he rebounds. There's absolutely no pressure to sell him for pennies on the dollar. So to convince the org to trade him would require an offer commesurate with the top-line winger he can be, otherwise they'll just wait. This offer is that, so Columbus would accept. But obviously Buffalo would never offer it, so that's moot. Sounds like OP is just looking to see what that would mean for Buffalo, and Sabres fans just want to be mad (and that I don't blame y'all for one bit).

It’s not about being “mad”
But it is absurd to even suggest something like this that just has zero chance of happening

Since when has that stopped anyone here? Heck, we still get regular Jenner proposals despite the player, the front office, and the ownership all being repeatedly explicitly clear that he's not going anywhere.

Just bc it doesn’t stop anyone doesn’t mean I’m gonna condone the nonsense

I still see my fellow Sabres fans trying to trade for Jenner,
and when they do i always mention it’s very unlikely that he’s available & to stop- i know that gets annoying
