Moving Geno to the wing

Created by: Imagine874859
Team: 2024-25 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 25, 2024
Published: Apr. 25, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think we should definitely consider putting Geno on the wing. His age and slowness is holding him back but playing him on the wing lets him focus on scoring. A lot of different players have done this including Pavelski, Giroux, even Lemieux.

I know Wahlstrom hasn't been great, but I don't know why NYI would do that.

If Graves doesn't have CGY on his NTC, maybe, but I don't think that you get anything back in that deal.

Also that 4th line would get absolutely bullied.

If pit retains on smith I would do that deal. Also we would probably resign Reilly for more money

I believe Malkin to the wing is one of the best moves this team can make.
However Lindholm at 7 million is not a contract I want. I rather offer Drai 14 million next season than pay Lindholm 7.

Lindholm had his first down year in his career I'd say. Before this year he was ppg or just under ppg and is very solid defensively. Maybe not 7 mil but I'd definitely pay him at least 6.5

He probably gets offered 7-7.5 from several teams though maybe not for 7 years.
