Since when do top pairing D that are never traded outside a return of anything but a big center, a fair deal? (when you include Holtz)

How about March 6, 2024: Bowen Byram for Casey Mittelstadt

In a way, this trade was modeled off Mikhail Sergachev for Jonathan Drouin, but with picks reversed and conditions removed. That was in 2017.

Because cherry picking one stat doesnt make you correct.

Boyd, berggen, sprong, nick robertson, mantha, foegele all outproduced hughes (who didnt finish top 100 btw are you saying hughes isnt a 1st line forward?)

Jack Hughes, while playing on 1 shoulder, ranked 64th in the league in even strength points/60.

He's also a top 5 power play guy in the league.

Since montreal's special teams units (PP and PK) both rank in the dumpster, clearly none of the guys there are particularly effective.

You made a point about Holtz's offensive production
I responded with a specific stat about that topic
Now, I'm cherry picking a stat?

If you want to argue they are all better producers than Jack Hughes, be my guest.
But that has nothing to do with Holtz, nor Guhle.

If you atleast had some secondary evidence to back it up it might be something but it does the opposite. His individual expected goals is .38 lower than his goals so not only is it a cherry picked stat its one that isnt likely sustainable. And a 1.40ish heavily sheltered offensive deployed winger with no defensive game or pugilistic properties isnt worth much.

It has been quite literately the opposite. He has played almost exclusively in our bottom-six, only got some power play time when guys got hurt. It became a major question around the devils this year, as he wasn't getting enough offensive deployments, wasn't getting on power play, wasn't getting ice time. It was the one known point of disagreement between Andrew Brunette and Lindy Ruff last year (Brunette supported Holtz, Lindy did not).

Just curious you ever seen Alex Holtz shoot a hockey puck? Or even read a scouting report on him?

Alex Holtz is a SNIPER. He's been a sniper his entire career. I would fully expect him to continue shooting above expectation his entire career
