Description

Apparently Florida, Colorado, and Calgary were all in pursuit of Sylvegard, so it's a little surprising he came to the Blues.

I would assume the Blues offered him a great shot to make the roster, most likely as the 3 RW.

It seems the Blues are also signing Samuel Johannesson (RHD - 23 years old). Had really solid production in the SHL. Seems like a late bloomer. I'm excited about this kid he has a lot of talent. I assume he starts in the AHL but maybe this is a sign the Blues will move on from Faulk.

Basically, it comes down to whether he can out-clever his skating. He plays hard on the boards and has a nasty shot, so he sounds like a Blues player.

Just saw that, I'll add him in to this.

I'm more excited about Johannesson than Sylvegard to be honest. Johannesson is a RHD and has an excellent shot. Great poise and speed and he's only 23.

I agree I'd at least like to see him get a look on the powerplay. His one timer is a serious threat and the Blues desperately need that on their powerplay.

What are your thoughts on the Samuel Johannesson signing? I think he has a lot of potential as a late bloomer. I wonder if the Blues signing him is a sign they will move Faulk.

Sylvegard is a great addition. Hopefully he makes the team and showcases his shot, he’s the likely Kapanen replacement. Not sure about Johannsson. He’ll probably play in the AHL and will earn a call-up. Let’s hope Faulk is on his way out regardless.
