I would prefer another prospect than Beck in a Necas trade. Would Farrell or Heineman be good?

I'd do Heineman/Farrell, WPG 1st, Harris, Barron/Pens 2025 2nd

Harris, beck and ~22nd pick are all replaceable asset. Necas would look great on a 2nd line

you can sign a 3C. sure it would be nice to find one internally, but ideally we'll draft someone to play in the top 6 alongside Suzuki, Caufield, Slaf, Dach, and in this case, Necas. If this were to happen Newhook could even slide down to the 3rd line to play with Roy and Armia again

Finding a 3c in FA could be an option, sure. But we probably won’t have cap space for that. Beck would be cost controlled.

With Necas, we would have way too many fake C. Newhook, Necas, Mesar and even Catton if we draft him

if we trade for Necas, its to play on Dach's wing. I also don't think Newhook really belongs in the fake C category anymore. at the start of the season he was definitely better on the wing, but down the stretch he was playing really solid hockey at C
