No 1st, no top prospect and no shot of Marner waiving

Except a 4 mill dollar Crouse who could play on line 2 , a cost controlled middle 6 centre, a tandem goalie with 1 year left on his deal and 3 2nds for Toronto to flip in trades or use. And dont forget more cap space.

He is not horrible he just needs to be the star and have a tough guy on his line to protect him!

Florida had to pay him big money with a 1 year of term. Marner will have to be paid big money with a year of term. Same age range, same point totals. They couldn't be closer except, of course, the playoff pedigree but Tkachuk wasnt proven in the playoffs then (15pts in 23 g) as he was coming off a loss to the Oilers, I think the lack of success has more to do with the Leafs than Marner just like it was with the Flames rather than Tkachuk. Marner actually has a better PPG in the playoffs than Tkachuk at the time (47PTs in 50G)
Mitch can play in the dirty areas that is how he gets his pts in the regular season. This has a lot to do with coaching and pressure in Toronto.
Marner would be slightly less valuable.
