Zero reason Montreal would consider this trade.

Montreal seems adamant about keeping Savard. They may not even part ways with him for 1st and/or 2nds.

Pens don't want a 34 year old Savard.

My reason mostly involves similar reasons for departing with Edmunsson last year. MTL has a lot of young dmen coming up who needs time to develop, and by the time they're a competing team Savard is likely a highly depreciated asset. Of course, Savard is better than Edmunsson so he will more than likely get a better return then what I chose here but who knows for sure I just thought that a vet defensive dman might help someone like Graves get back on his game.

Montreal values Savard more than Edmundson, especially since their LD depth was/is much greater than RD depth. Montreal was also in a position where they also needed the cap space flexibility last offseason, which they don't this offseason. Its not really worth it for Montreal just from a retention standpoint unless they REALLY like Lucius, let alone moving Savard.
