That is probably one of the worst offers for Parayko I've seen in quite some time

Y'all would personally pack up all of Markstrom's belongings and drive the U-Haul to Toronto to get that deal done.

We can't trade him unless we are bottoming out. And we aren't bottoming out.

Well, you're certainly not topping at the moment. So....middling?

What in the world would lead you to believe that the Kings would rather have one season of the $11 million moribund lame-duck John Tavares instead of three seasons of the center of our best and most consistent forward line over the last two seasons and whose cap hit is half of Tavares'?!?!? Did you bother to look at our cap situation for next season? Los Angeles wouldn't make that trade if you took out the two draft picks.

This is a quote directly from Doug Armstrong.

" I'm not sure our fan base, and i'm not sure I could handle it. Take 15 more losses off from this season and do that 5 more years. I'm not really sure we want to have a point total in the 50s, and 60s for 4 or 5 more consecutive years to build something that might be good in 2035.... We're trying to do something that's difficult which is stay competitive and find good players and make good trades and win a championship, but my personal belief is that going the other way and being a 50-60 point team until 2029 to gain those assets....there's pain that goes into those things, and so i'm not in the position to think that's the direction the st louis blues should go in.... If you took our top 4 players and traded them and you got young assets and futures and you replaced them with AHL players and less, we can get to 50 points, I can get us there trust me... But I just don't think that's where we need to go so we're gonna stay with the path we're on"

That's pretty much word for word, excluding some of him point to examples

Take it however you want, but there's a real reluctance to bottom out from him and the entirety of the front office.

I'm not saying DA is wrong in not wanting to call it quits and start over. And he is definitely one of the best GMs in the league, so if anyone could pull it off it's him. But, my sarcastic comments aside there is literally nothing worth than getting stuck in the middle. Speaking as a Stars fan who spent like 10 years with a roster too good to suck but not good enough to really contend, there is nothing worse. So, I get not wanting to rebuild, but if you can't shake up the lineup it's almost a worse fate.

I'd imagine you see 2-3 years of middling and trying to make low risk moves. Our core issue is we can't really move the guys that we need to move, or if we did we wouldn't get anything back in return to fill the lineup. We have some really good pieces and a great goaltending tandem, I don't think it'll be a long-term thing, the difficult thing however will be finding a #1 defenseman. Our young group of forwards looks really good at least. I think Krug/Faulk will be alot more movable next offseason or the following if need be once their movement clauses lessen and the term commitment to another team isn't as great.

Probably see Leddy and Saad go next offseason if Krug or Faulk can't if not before.
