Fitting expensive Joshua

Description
I wanted to see what the Canucks cap situation looks like if Joshua is a Nichushkin-esque signing.

I wonder if it’s better to sign one $5M level Dman or try to get two depth guys.

It looks extremely hard to afford much if they decide to sign Joshua and Joshua is expensive. I think he might be really expensive this offseason.

Uhhhh
Seems like a lot. I’d say he gets 3.5 max.

I went super high I know. I just wanted to see what the cap situation looked like. He seems like the perfect candidate to get overpaid this offseason. Maybe not by Vancouver if it gets as out of hand as this number.

Agreed 1 good year doesn't get nearly 6 mil. Also if DeSmith wants 2.75m he can get it elsewhere better to throw 1-1.5m at either a reclamation goalie (ie. Kakkohen) or sign Silovs and give him backup duties

I think some teams would be willing to go to $4M on him... hard to find, power forward skillset coming off a breakout season and playing extremely well in the playoffs

F@%* No. His play in the playoffs has been disappointing. He's had one good season. If others want to pay him $5M per then good luck to them, but Canucks should move on.

Man that’s a bad outcome but I tend to agree. He’s going to be overpaid. Can Podkolzin develop into a similar player?

Yeah he's going to get overpaid though because he is putting up points and is going for probably his last contract.
