Description

Not sure on Boston's interest level, but picks can level it out. Krug as a buyout is roughly $2.3 a year so the retention is slightly cheaper, and we get to cut it out an extra 3 years of the $2.3M that he would be on the books.

Maatta and Fabbri are practically dumps so Detroit gets some flexibility while hardly paying for it. Maatta fills at LD year for Wallinder. Fabbri and Frederic each bring 18 goals to cancel out the scoring we would lose, as well as cap flexibility next year. Best part is we have 2nd rounders to move up for more defense if the situation is right. Still have some money (around $5M) left if we want/need to add scoring or the prospects aren't ready.

Krug is the problem or giving up Frederic? I appreciate the insight. I feel confident Krug is a good fit somewhere especially with retention, but with the full NMC this year yet, I bet we have to eat another year.

I love Krug, But he burned his bridge over 1 year that was the difference between Boston and St.L. offer, and Boston does not need him at all.

Both. Frederic a huge part of the team and the future. they aren't giving him up. There's also just no world where they can take Krug back. If he had one year left, maybe with full double retention it could work. But you could offer the bruins Krug double retained for a 7th and I doubt they take it.
