Description

Hedman knows every dirty secret about how to walk the line as an NHL defender without crossing it.

Due respect to Matheson & Savard who are great vets, but Hedman is in a class of his own and still has a ton of hockey ahead of him. Let him show Guhle, Reinbacher, & Xhekaj how to be the best.

I'll agree with your scenario, that maybe Hedman accepts a trade to get a long term deal from another team. But he has no motivation to "be a mentor". He'll want to play on a true contender, well if sees that as Montreal, then OK.

Honestly BOTH want to be here their whole career. The NHLPA is going to hate this but I'm guessing Stamkos comes in between 5.5-6 and Hedman around 5 on 4 year deals front loaded NMC's

I cannot see that happening. If it does, the deals will be like 8 year deals with front loaded salary.

Its been glossed over how bad of a deal that is for Tampa. Hedman would never get traded but good lord thats an awful trade proposal.
