Ha, ha, No. Let's suppose lame-duck Mitch single-handedly wins us 15 games next year despite the loss of Trevor Zegras, and then he walks at the end of the season. We missed the playoffs this year by 20 games. What will we have to show for this trade in June 2025?

That's why no one with an IQ measurable in three digits would expend significant assets on a lame duck if he was at the head of a non-playoff team.
