Lol who is replacing Marner?

I'm not the OP, nor a Leafs fan, but I would assume he is referring to OHL MVP Easton Cowan. May be a bit of a rich projection though...

Cowan is going to be a crazy good addition next year.

Minten, Cowan and Greboykin should not be Leafs in 24/25. They should be Marlies. Learning to be Leafs in 25/26. (yeah Tavares and likely Marner are gone)

Don't Leaf fans learn? You have seen how Dmen can just hit the wall in their early to mid thirties. Somehow so many Leaf fans think signing soon to 30 year old Pesce to a seven year contract is wise.

Minten and Cowen, yes need to be on the Marlies but Grebyonkin may have to be a Leaf, normally the only way Russian or Euro prospects make the trip to N.A. is only if they are "assured" they'll get a Nhl roster spot.

You can't replace an Allstar playmaking 90+ point RW'er, who is a powerplay specialist AND a 1st pair penalty killer.

As much as Leaf fans whine about him, Marner is a rare special player to have on your team.

That's not true for Europeans. It might be somewhat be true for older Europeans who don't have can make more more Europe than the AHL, But Grbyonkin is 21 years of age. He has a big chance to make lots of money in the NHL for a decade. If it means a year in the minors, so be it . But geez, teams aren't going this "assured" route, and weakening their NHL team, especially a Cup contender like the Leafs.

I'm looking forward to 25/26 when the Leafs have three players on ELCs. When is the last time that has happened? Knies, Webber, Woll, Holmberg should be getting new contracts, and hopefully "big" raises because they deserve them.
