Forwards look decent but you've gotta upgrade the defense. Add some UFA's: Roy, DeMelo, OEL, Carrier, Zadorov or the like.

I'd keep Benning over Burroughs. Benning was ok in 2022-23.

Yeah I mean I'm pretty indifferent between Benning and Burroughs personally - no huge preference.

As for UFA's I agree the blue line is still bad but the likelihood the Sharks entice a good UFA D-man in his prime to sign is low. And if they do, they're gonna have to sacrifice term, AAV or both. I like Pesce, DeMelo, Carrier but don't see them landing here.

Benning is a solid #4/5 guy being paid very cheaply. I think he has decent value as an asset.

Even if the Jackets had any interest whatsoever in Kunin (there's nowhere on the roster for him), this sort of sign-and-trade arrangement is an easy rejection.
