I'd rather have Terry at 7 million vs Marner at 12

Because most people don't make fair trades. You're Anaheim one is a good example. The retention alone is worth a 1st plus.

Because there is no fairness in these trades especially

That Anaheim trade is so bad for the Ducks. Would rather have Terry at 5 mil cheaper and a steady d-man

No one is paying a 2nd for Jarnkrok

Not sure the value breakdown on the Timmins, McCabe and Kampf but don't see anyone paying a 2nd for any of them

Because most people on the form don't know hockey and over/under value players based on the team the play for

and instead of explaining their thought and providing a better or alternate solution they post something with no value that is equal to their hockey knowledge

Also adding Marner resigns doesn't increase his trade value. There has never been a UFA with 1 year remaining on his deal that's been signed and traded. So they're really only trading for 1 guaranteed year of him.

The Maple Leafs fans on this site seem to be the most irrational of all the fanbases Shanaplan...

1 in 10 AGM's posted by Leaf's fans is rational. The rest are - "we don't want this player anymore but should get massive/irrational returns for them though"

Hey man, nice to have a new Ducks fan on here.

That said, any retention on Terry’s 6 years left is out of the question, and any trade with Fowler going to TOR wouldn’t happen because he’s veto it with his 4 team trade list.

All that said, I’m not convinced that I’d prefer Marner at $12M compared to Terry at $7M. In a vacuum it’d be close, but when we’re going to have to give a contract to our entire young core in the next 2 years, I’d prefer not to have a $12M anchor
