It's utterly unrealistic to think that Los Angeles would trade either seven seasons of future captain and #1LD Mikey Anderson or two seasons of Adrian Kempe for Mitch Marner, let alone both.

Kempe put up 70 points at nearly half Marners cap hit and is signed longer. I wouldn’t do 1 for 1 with just Kempe,

But this trade would make him axe Blake immediately.

He did it for one season. Mitch has been beyond ppg for 6 seasons now. That is worth it.

Kempe is older than marner. This is more than fair.

Okay go look at marners playoff stats. This year was the only bad year. kempe had one really good season. Marner has been way over ppg for so long. do you guys even know who mitch marner is. He just cant perform in toronto. any other team he goes to will tear it up. Hes gonna leave toronto and win a cup. thats just a toronto thing to happen. so i think this trade is very fair.

Nobody is denying that he’s a good player, the Leafs put too high of a price tag on him which is going to cause them to ship him to another team cheap or keep him until free agency and have him walk for free. Leafs have miss managed too many contracts over the years and are going to have to pay a price for it. Because of Marners NMC he has complete control over where he goes and you better believe he won’t be going to a noncontender and all current contenders don’t have the cap space which means the Leafs retain take back a bad contract or let Marner walk for free no way around it. Every team is the league would love to have Marner but his price tag is too high.
