That's a pretty sizeable overpayment on the Calgary trade

Calgary declines. The picks would be a good start for Andersson alone but the prospects are underwhelming. Not sure if the Flames would want Samuelsson or not.

I think it's about right value wise.

I value Andersson - 1st(mid) + 2 x 2nds
Sharangovich - 1st(high) + 2nd

We get 2 1sts in Kulich + 1st(11th)
Samuelson is probably worth a 2nd
Strbak is another 2nd.
And you add a 2nd.

For me it works, but I don't have any Intel on either prospect.

Edit: after looking up the prospects I like this trade for the Flames quite a bit.

Sammy is prolly a late first early second. Strbak definitely should hold more value but currently you're probably right. Yegor would need a reasonable extension for a 3rd liner to make this deal close. Without a reasonable extension he's worth a mid second, even with the production he had last season.

Kulich - a left shot winger we need another of those like we need a hole in the head.
Strback - a defensive prospect exactly what Conroy stocked up big on this past season.

I looked them up earlier too. They're just more of what we already have on the farm.

Samuelsson - Like I said I'm not sure about Samuelsson. That's a pretty long contract they'd have to really like him and I don't know if they like him at all.

Don't forget it's a retool not a rebuild. Conroy won't just be dumping all his best players for picks and prospects.

I don't quite see Sharky as a 3rd liner. That's why I think he's worth quite a bit more than a 2nd. Mostly due to age, production, and being signed to a $3M value contract.

I wouldn't trade Sharangovich for Samuelsson one for one, but that's me.

Probably unfair calling him that but that's what capfriendly has him labeled as. His contract only has one year left and then he's a ufa.

The last scouting report on capfriendly is from late October when he was still adjusting, struggling, and bouncing all over the lineup.
