We need a lot of pieces to be great again

Created by: Tsmash
Team: 2024-25 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 14, 2024
Published: May 14, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
There are 3 major needs for this blues roster (1Ld, 1Lw, 2c) I tried my best to come up with players to fill those roles, but it is a very difficult task. I think shea theodore could be the perfect partner for parayko if vgk will trade him and he extends in stl. Other than that I took the best players available.

You don;t get him foir a 3rd rounder, let alone a late in the round 3rd rounder.

Hes probably worth a 2nd and 3rd, 24 yrs old, 21 pts in his first full season (66 games) on a bad offensive club, hes probably worth a bit more than Liljegren (7th pro season, slightly more expensive RFA, and hasn;t established himself as a top 4 guy on a club that annually adds 2 starting dmen ahead of him).

Buying out Krug would be a really stupid thing to do. Yeah, the 333.333 the first year doesn't hurt a lot, the 5 following seasons where it would cost us 2.333.333 per season (2.833.333 in 26/27) does.

If we are really set on moving him this offseason It's probably wiser to offer to retain on him (if he agrees to waive his NTC for certain teams). In that case we only have to pay him 3 more seasons and he's off the books when our next window starts. Depending on how much we retain on him, we might even get some positive value back, even if it's just a C-prospect or a mid-round pick.

If he doesn't want to waive his NTC, we'll just wait another year and move him next offseason when his NTC turns into a M-NTC.
