Why do the jets need to do either of those moves? Doesn't help the team at all.

Can't see NJD wanting to trade their best/second best winger at all. But for trade value, it might be a fair deal.

doesn't really seem to make a whole lot of sense for the Jets. They could just not get Holden and put Morrisey with Trouba. and why would Lowry be on the 1st line with Scheif and Laine when he's a 4th liner and a C at that

Morrissey was one of their best defenders last season and the Jets see him as a long-term LHD top 4 option. The Holden trade makes more sense for next season when Enstrom's contract expires. Similarly fro the Palmeiri trade,in theory, Connor, Roslovic, Petan and Lemieux will all be NHL ready for 2018-19 and a 2 for 1 upgrade carries better value.
