Agreed.. but I like it from the Blues perspective. Also, if it goes through, imagine the haul Ottawa could get if they were out of playoff contention and decided to trade Buch half retained. About 1.5mil for him to a playoff contender?

Can’t see ottawa moving Greig let alone 2 high picks for a soon to be very expensive to late 30s winger

I went from the angle that it is fairly low risk for Ottawa. If Buch really clicks and Ottawa starts becoming a playoff contender then it is worth it. If nothing improves you can retain and mostly like recoup pretty much what you paid for him since he would be a ppg winger at like 1.4 mil.
