I don't see anything in that offer that's particularly appealing for Anaheim to take

Over-the-horizon draft picks, a RD prospect who isn't as good as Tristan Luneau and no better than Noah Warren, and the undersized Nick Robertson? That doesn't get you Frank Vatrano by himself, and Cam Fowler doesn't want to go to Toronto, anyway.

Vatrano only has 1 year left and Fowler an aging 33 year old defencemen probably past his prime. A 1st 3rd, young top 9 goal scorer and a B prospect seems like a fair haul. Can’t see any other team giving up anything more for 1 year of Vatrano and 33 year old Fowler.

Lilijegren is likely only worth a 3rd imo, considering that's the rumored price for Jordan Harris, his closest comparable. It was also the price for Peeke, Lybushkin, Zadorov etc.

It’s a Dallas second and assuming they make the cup final it’ll be 63-64 overall which essentially is a third in itself and liljegren has FAR more upside then a Lybushkin or peeke

Fair I guess, but keep in mind you also added a 4th and the Lybushkin and Peeke were 50% retained deadline moves. Now with FA around the corner players go for less

Realistically a 3rd and 5th or whatever it takes would work for both teams with liljegren having change of scenery and Toronto spending money else where. The goal of the trade isn’t to get picks back it’s to give liljegren the benefit of the doubt as well as look at other options on Toronto side.

Picks three drafts from now, an undersized forward having trouble sticking his place on Toronto's roster, and with a massive medical history, and you want retention. That's wholey unappealing.

When you say "a 1st[, a] 3rd" it's clear to me that you don't understand the huge difference in value between 2024 picks and 2026 picks. Vatrano and Fowler are contributing now and Fowler at least will be contributing in 2025-2026, too, while 2026 picks won't take the ice until 2027, at the earliest.

Nobody, not even Toronto a homer, believes that Nick Robertson is a top 6 forward, so when you say "top 9 goal scorer," what you really mean is a third liner. Anaheim has plenty of those, and in fact the three Ducks who spent the most time on that line all exceeded Robertson's 0.48 PPG quite comfortably. Moreover, Anaheim's top three LWs for next season look to be Cutter Gauthier, Trevor Zegras and Frankie Vatrano, and Robertson wouldn't threaten either of the first two for their jobs and won't outscore Frankie this year, either, no matter where he ends up. So he has little if any trade value where Anaheim is concerned.

As you yourself concede, Villeneuve is a B prospect, and as I said originally, he's nowhere near as good a prospect as Luneau and certainly no better a prospect than Warren; in fact, it's not clear that he's a better prospect than Drew Helleson, either. The point of all of this is that as my esteemed friend @GiggyWithGibby said at the top, there's nothing here to tempt Anaheim to give up the current value of Vatrano and Fowler for the speculative and therefore dubious future value of those four elements in your offer.

Calgary has no want, need or use for Liljegren.
