Vatrano only has 1 year left and Fowler an aging 33 year old defencemen probably past his prime. A 1st 3rd, young top 9 goal scorer and a B prospect seems like a fair haul. Can’t see any other team giving up anything more for 1 year of Vatrano and 33 year old Fowler.
When you say "a 1st[, a] 3rd" it's clear to me that you don't understand the huge difference in value between 2024 picks and 2026 picks. Vatrano and Fowler are contributing
now and Fowler at least will be contributing in 2025-2026, too, while 2026 picks won't take the ice until 2027, at the earliest.
Nobody, not even Toronto a homer, believes that Nick Robertson is a top 6 forward, so when you say "top 9 goal scorer," what you really mean is a third liner. Anaheim has plenty of those, and in fact the three Ducks who spent the most time on that line all exceeded Robertson's 0.48 PPG quite comfortably. Moreover, Anaheim's top three LWs for next season look to be Cutter Gauthier, Trevor Zegras and Frankie Vatrano, and Robertson wouldn't threaten either of the first two for their jobs and won't outscore Frankie this year, either, no matter where he ends up. So he has little if any trade value where Anaheim is concerned.
As you yourself concede, Villeneuve is a B prospect, and as I said originally, he's nowhere near as good a prospect as Luneau and certainly no better a prospect than Warren; in fact, it's not clear that he's a better prospect than Drew Helleson, either. The point of all of this is that as my esteemed friend
@GiggyWithGibby said at the top, there's nothing here to tempt Anaheim to give up the current value of Vatrano and Fowler for the speculative and therefore dubious future value of those four elements in your offer.
