What a terrible trade with Avs. Your Maatta's valuation is ridiculous. This trade makes no sense at all.

The only "ok" trade is the one with Vegas. But I just like the acquisition of Karlsson. I don't like Merril. He just an ok d-man.

I like what you get, but don't like giving up Jarry. He could be a 1B and at RFA money. I think he takes the back up role next year and hopefully challenges Murray for the # 1 spot for a year or 2 before we unload him, or Murray, to a team that needs a legit goalie and get far more then you're getting.

I think Maatta could get both those players alone, maybe a late pick, and don't think COL want to do the draft pics. I'm happy to see a COL trade that doesn't involve Duchene though.

I think the Vegas deal looks about even, but not sure they'll want Gustavsson as I don't know how confident they are in bringing along a goalie just yet, and they have a few to play with. I think they're more interested in high quality prospects, draft picks, and players with value at the deadline they can move for prospects and draft picks as well as having cap space to eat players cap hits for prospects and draft picks.

I hate the idea of trade a 22 talent kid with so much upside, resilience, poise and mature, just because he had some injuries and a few key mistakes.

First of all, he's very young and have all the chances to recover from the injuries and play consistently. Second, our best d-man, Letang, made several key mistakes last seasons and he's much more experient than Maatta. He can upgrade his skate abilities and his turnovers, cause he's still very young and have a lot of potential. We have to be much more patience with him, cause if we won't, we can regret about it one day, if we trade him someday.

COL is is about the only team that needs D and G depth, and that's what the PENS have. COL has a 3rd line C and draft potential that the PENS need. The above trades treat the other teams more than fairly and set up the PENS to prepare for trading Geno in 2-3 years from now.

We as PENS fans got very excited about Maatta because he looked really good under Johnson's system. Since then he is what he is. Young, slow and paid for future potential. He;snot bad, just not fit for the PENS system.
