Blackhawks trade deadline JVR trade

Created by: trammelt
Team: 2015-16 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 4, 2015
Published: Nov. 4, 2015
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No place on roster for 4 top 6 RW, when only 1 top 6 LW is had. Would SUCK to lose TT, and Pokka, and Baun. CHI fans, TOR fans would you do it? seems like a great hockey trade to me.

Side note: Hossa and Dano should be flipped. Hossa has lost a bit of his offensive finishing touch, but is still one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL. would bring scoring to 3rd line AND help the line stay a shut down defensive line. especially with Garbutt's speed on the left side.

would finally balance out 2 true scoring lines, a great defensive and fast shut down 3rd, and keep intact the best 4th line in hockey.

I think this is an absolutely god-awful trade for the Blackhawks. TT should be virtually immovable, especially for JVR who is not even close to elite. Makes me nauseous as a Hawks fan. Also, tons of hidden value in Pokka and a 1st rounder.

In essence the trade is JVR for Pokka, TT, and a draft pick in the 20s. The Leafs and Hawks have to evaluate the relatively unknown NHL talents of Pokka and TT (and their cheap entry level contracts) to make the deal. As you see, hockeyfan14, hates it. Hate is a strong word/emotion, but I think he's right. Hawks hang onto their young talent.

Hawks would never make this deal. I've heard that they really like Baun, and TT and Pokka are future core pieces for them, most likely. Plus they are all on ELC's, and the Hawks need cheap young talent who can produce, like these guys. No point in just throwing them away for someone who is a UFA in 3 years, in 3 years the Hawks want to still have their young talent on their team, producing, unless they are so tight against the cap that they have to trade them, like Saad.

As a Hawks fan I Agreed with DontTradeNash. Especially when it comes to that last sentence. No one really knows the ceiling to these players, but when you play along side Toews and Hossa on a line the development process is much easier. I hate to say this about my own fan base, but let's not get too greedy. Patience wins the long term battle here. It would probably be a good thing if they can't resign all their ELCs in two years...must mean they played well enough to deserve the money ala Saad/warrant decent return in a trade ala Saad. In the admittedly WAY WAY too early rookie of the year stakes...you have to put Panarin in the discussion.
