Oh God, please no. Just hand them the cup. The sad part is I don't think that's far off from PIT saying yes.

The same would've been said for Gretzky man.. when a good trade comes along a GM will at least co sided it.. this is actually not a bad trade.
Crosby is 29 and has likely had his best years. He'll still be absolutely raw for the next few seasons, but to get a young 21 year old kid who put up only 12 less points than Crosby in addition to Puljujarvi, a 1st, and Benson who has some promise as well is an attractive package. I think after back-to-back cups there's no way he'd accept it. But if they had fallen short this past season that could've happened for sure

I think you are right. It will only ever be a, what if theory but I agree, Pittsburgh would really have to think about a deal which I see as fair. Also it would give them ammo to approach Duchene or something

As a lifelong Pens fan and a huge Sidney fan -- i still cant see how the Pens would say no to this deal. Well done ..

The pens say no because they are on the verge of being considered a dynasty. They get rid of Crosby, they DONT win the cup next year, simple as that. Plus they would know that Edmonton would be unstoppable so they wouldn't be able to beat them if they made the cup final. Other than that, good value trade forsure

Exactly. Obviously Crosby isn't getting traded but had he continued through his slump or went sour after the pre-season concuss or postseason concuss, things might have gone differently.

Thanks man. Only way they say yes to this if they hadn't won the cup.

Yeah obviously they wouldn't do this now, but had they not won the cup, they would probably consider trading him. Thanks.
