This is actually pretty good. It would be doubtful that all the pieces fell into place but it's definitely the first time I have seen a Kessel trade and feel the team is better.

Thanks, i thought that too. Not sure about Col trade value, but it should be close. Maybe not very realistic but could be nice

Yeah, at the moment would have actually traded Phil for Trochek only... maybe ARI could be a possibility some day later on when we see who can replace Kessel... But I really like the idea of trading with FLA as Phil could also be a marketing tool for them. The one issue is that FLA have internal cap of 65M. So in reality we would have to take Demers here I suppose...

But anyway you'd have Maatta expendable. But I don't like Duchene here. Besides you can be sure the price is inflated I still prefer a more defensively orientated player. How about Henrique from NJ? Shero could obviously be interested in Maatta and could move one of his centers. Henrique can also play a wing and is a great two-way forward in addition to being a shoot-first player. Could be better fit as a scorer, helping Malkin with the spots and defensive duties... Crosby-Malkin-Trocheck-Henrique... not a bad kingbolt I would say with the last two being able to play on top6 both as centers or wingers if needed.

I'm not sure about Sheahan though. Don't think we're in position to take risks this way. Would obviously prefer to test the centers from the AHL. But I agree we'd have to move a forward to have spaces for Sprong, ZAR as well. So Kuhnhackl would be a first choice.

Like the Kessel deal ... think FLA might reject though. They would probably counter Torcheck and Demers (to open more cap space). They might even give you a 2nd Rd pick just to take Demers contract, where as with Matheson I don't think they'd give up a pick. I'd counter them Kessell for Torcheck, Pysyk, a 1st and a 3rd.

Sheahan is such a risk. I'd rather move Kuhnnackle to center and hope it works out. I wouldn't want him with out $1m in retention so I can hide him in the minors if needed. I'd offer a 5th for Sheahan and $1m in retention ... other wise I'd offer a 7th for sheahan, but Rowney can and will do at 4th C just fine.

Hate chasing Duchese. Only way I'd get him is to move him for another player I couldn't get with the pieces I give for him. I just don't like him much.

Maatta, Kuhnhackle, Pouliout, Archibald and 2nd (maybe a 1st) ... could throw in Corrado or swap a Kuhnhackle for Wilson if that helps sweeten the deal.
to NJ for
Henrique, Santini, and Blandisi.
