I don't see Philly accepting that trade. You can argue Pacioretty > Giroux but the value difference between Pacioretty and Giroux to Sanheim and a 2nd/Davidson is too far off. Sanheim is worth much more to Philly than that. Combine this with the fact that Philly isn't looking to move any of their younger D prospects for an older forward, I just don't see it happening. I think Philly established that when they traded Schenn at the draft.

Sanheim is basically untouchable. Not trading a defensive prospect for an established player

If you have Duchene coming, you really don't need/want Giroux. His might be one of the worst contracts in the NHL, right up there with Voracek.

Gallagher and maybe Ikonen should be enough to uproot Duchene. Sakic is dreaming if he thinks he'll get a lot more than that. The market has spoken.
