You have probably shown why the the Tavares is so impractical for the Leafs. If Levio, Soshnikov, Kapanen, Borgman Rosen are so deserving to be on the team, they they will get more money in their first RFA contract. And it's only a roster of 21. There is only so much candy (cap) in the store, and Leafs won't/can't spend 37m on four players. No team does.

Kapanen and others get more but Kapanen gets way more even on a bridge deal. Do you really want Hyman and Bracco on Matthews wing and Kapanen on the 4th Line?

Marner and Nylander shouldn't get 8.
Kapanen / Leivo deals are a little low. I don't think they will either break 2.5/season though, because there is no roster space and they won't get tons of looks without injuries this season.

Fat chance that Tavares plays 2nd fiddle too Matthews, Tavares will want to be the #1C for a contending team and that's not happening in Toronto.
