Description

Still fits under the cap with only one retained salary. Canucks get another 1st, two good prospects and a serviceable Dman, while the Habs get playoff rental Sedins and Edler for another year. And yes, Edler is better than Alzner.

Personally, I think each Sedin is still worth about a 1st round pick and a 2nd. So I think you should add a 2nd and a 3rd pick.

If the goal is to win a cup as soon as possible, this is the best possible trade for the Habs. We get aging but still effective #1 Centre and a top pairing LHD. (As well as another top line LW). That's all of MTL's immediate problems solved in 1 trade.

Yeah yeah yeah I know, they aren't my preferred players in trade either but given that acquiring a #1 center and a top pairing LHD is really hard, this would be the best outcome of any.

Stop to want trade the Sedin twin to MTL. The Habs have no interest for them.
Particulary for top prospect and high draft picks.
The Habs have no reason to help the Canucks so much.
