Cap Crunch My A**... Not if we do it right

Created by: LoovTrain
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 26, 2017
Published: Aug. 29, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Key is to have minimal bonus overages in 2018-19

That would leave us with about 11.5 million to re-sign key RFA'S like Brown and Kapanen etc. In 2020-21 and beyond.

You're right about those overages. Gee, I hate that third year on Marleau's contract.

Finally, someone that understands that the Leafs aren't in cap hell.

I believe he can be moved (rather easily) if necessary if his play dictates it and/or they go big game hunting for a UFA Dman. Take his and Martin's cap hit and add it to approx. 3 million unused cap space for this roster at 23 men/80 million cap and you have approximately 11 million to spend on rfa's and ufa's.

The problem with predictions that are two years down the road is that they are two years down the road. A lot of wishful thinking.

That D core looks like bloody chum in shark infested waters.

Or, you know in two years that D core could be Stanley Cup contenders... since neither you nor I know what the future holds

Just saying, they look awfully "young".

Agreed. Hopefully Lou has some kind of plan to get through the "crunch"
