Try adding another million to Pasternaks contract. If he's not signing in Boston for 6/year he isn't signing for 6.5. Also the trade to get him is horrible. Take out Bailey and add in your best D man prospect or the second best one. They wouldn't even entertain trading him without that included

Pasta won't be traded. Boston is going to get him signed before the season starts. It's honestly a matter of days before he gets locked up

Not going to even attempt to address what you think is fair value for Pastrnak. Two good prospects, one of our best young players, a guy coming off a 50 point season and two first rounders isn't enough for Pastrnak? If Boston asks for more for that, I'd walk away from negotiations at that point with no regrets on my mind.

There's a difference between a team being unwilling to trade an asset (which could be the case here), and a team insisting on ridiculous prices (which would imply Boston is shopping Pastrnak's rights, which I HIGHLY doubt is the case).

As for Shipachyov, I'd be shocked if Vegas wouldn't at least negotiate up from Brock Nelson and a 2nd. Isn't this team looking for young talent and picks? Wouldn't they rather have a consistent 20 goal scorer and a 2nd round pick than two years of a 30 year old KHLer (not saying Shipachyov isn't good, I'm just saying that Nelson and a 2nd is more valuable to Vegas specifically than Shipachyov is). Maybe a 1st rounder and Nelson for Shipachyov and a pair of 4th rounders?

I mean, sure, I agree. But you kind of have to expect people to make posts targeting free agents until they actually get signed. If I have to put up with Toronto fans obsessing over Tavares' contract, and given my opinion on how this site should work I do, what's the objection to a post about acquiring Pastrnak? Was the offer unfair? I doubt that, I very intentionally overpaid in both quantity of pieces and the quality of each piece. Was the money offered not good enough? Possibly, but I left 2 million in cap space in case it wasn't. I don't understand the objections here.
