We don't have too many 2018 picks. So you said that if we give you a guy like Smith to get the cap more even, we could also add a decent pick. He also helps your LW.

Sorry man, getting a pick next year doesn't help me enough. Getting Smith and his more expensive contract doesn't help me enough. Maybe there is something else you can offer me that is worth my while? instead of a pick a prospect maybe? Or even a roster player but at least something better. And no 4th liners are not the guys I want.

How about Rieder+ for Ceci+Smith?

Not interested in giving you Ceci in this deal unless the + is pretty big. If the + is a 1st or something we'd do it, and we'd actually add something else in still, but i'm guessing you don't want to give up a 1st here.
