Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We all know Martin is suposed to give intangibles to this team and im ok with that but the guy cant play and is blocking playing time from other young kids more them ready to play. Package him with Lindberg whos fallen off for a pick to make some room.

Dealing JVR and Bracco to add a physical mobile d man is a play for the now and the future.

Open to thoughts and comments but if all you have is "wow thats a terrible idea" or "i want what you're smoking" then no thanks

Dreidger: I can see moving Martin, and a body. . . . .for a mid round pick, but think you missed trying to move them to Vancouver. Van, would appear to be in a rebuild, and to take on Martin with 3 years left, just doesn't seem realistic. I think NYI, might have some interest, and even NJ, for all the same reasons the Leafs brought him in. Not sure Lindberg ever becomes an NHL'er but a change of scenery, can't hurt. I've long thought there was a good potential match with Anaheim and JVR, for a RD, but there seems to be a whole lot of opposition to making Manson the available guy. I do think he would be who Toronto would have the most interest in. Bracco, at this point, adds little to the equation. In addition, as part of a larger deal, they may want with Kesler out for quite some time, to add Bozak and see if they would include Ritchie?

Haha what a joke man. You cannot get Manson for these players. Ritchie has WAY more value than Bozak

It starts with Nylander or Marner for Manson. Manson is cheap and a really good defenseman. So stop with this horrible offer it is pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. JVR not signed has no value. He is going to want a lot of money and years he is about to be a UFA. Horrible.

Yes that's probably the Ducks starting position but there's no way Toronto goes for it. So the secondary position would be multiple pieces in return, JVR, Bracco+ would be the only route they could take.

In the end though ANA doesn't want to trade Manson (in my opinion), so this is all just an exercise in futility.

If Nylander or Marner are the starting points for Manson then leafs should be out obviously. They need to address their d though so the point still stands that they should be looking to deal for d by using their forward depth.

That was partly my thinking that maybe Vancouver would like to add martin to help them in their rebuild like the leafs did. NJ, Florida, NYI and maybe even DET could maybe use someone like him. Not asking for much considering he's got 3 years left obviously

Dreiger18. Agree with Doug on the Martin trade. But the Ducks trade, how's it's really a benefit for the Ducks? They do have left wingers. Especially with Vatanen out till January, Manson is needed. And Manson has more controllable years and is much cheaper than JVR.
