Ottawa has been projecting Logan Brown to be a top 6 center, and so far he's looking really good. Ottawa doesn't even do Brown for Duchene straight up.

Also, Ottawa have stated that they wish to keep and resign Turris. So a deal only happens if either OTT feels Turris will hit free agency or if equal salary goes back in the Duchene trade.

Also, last year around the trade deadline, Sens owner Eugene Melnyk made a public statement, saying Colorado was asking for one of L.Brown, C.White, or T.Chabot, to which he responded that those demands were a joke and no way. He got fined for his comments since NHL teams aren't allowed to talked about other teams players in trade discussions and contract negotiations, etc.

My guess is that Ottawa offered something like Z.Smith, C.Ceci + 1st rd pick for Duchene and Sakic refused it. Smith and Ceci cap hit come together to make $6mil.

Duchene is not going anywhere. Joe Sakik screwed himself on this one. He overvalued him by a country mile and has missed out on great trade opportunities. I loved him as a player but he is one of the worst GM's in the NHL. He will be gone before season's end. I bet the new GM will keep Deuchene and he will excell.

They wont offer Brown straight up, but last summer they offered Chabot and Zibanajad and were turned down by Sakic. You are hilarious.
