So CBJ want some offense ?

Created by: MTLaveragefan
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 10, 2017
Published: Nov. 10, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sad to see patch go, but we bring two Qc boys back.

Before the fanboys start screaming in tears -> this trade is relatively fair

Patch >> Dubois (which is almost considered a bust)
Patch >> Savard
but
Patch < (barely) Savard + Dubois
so
Patch + 3rd pair D = Savard + PLD

Remember that Patch is a 35 + goal scorer EVERY YEAR.

Davidson could be changed for Schlemko or Benn (and picks could be changed).

The "Green trade" would be done at TD -> if the habs have a shot for the playoff
- great way for the wings to get cap relief (not really) and picks at the same time for a player going UFA next year
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Dubois, Pierre-Luc
  2. Savard, David
  3. 2020 3rd round pick (CBJ)
CBJ
  1. Davidson, Brandon
  2. Pacioretty, Max
  3. 2019 3rd round pick (MTL)
2.
DET
  1. Benn, Jordie
  2. 2018 2nd round pick (CHI)
  3. 2020 3rd round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
at TD if th eHABS make the playoff, and the wings do not.

- it is an expensive rental who goes UFA next season... the value is enough

You're trading our best goalscorer who is on a sick contract for a bust and a top 4 d man, who can't play with Weber. trade makes 0 sense

Dubois is 19, he's far from a bust, he'll be at the world juniors this year.

Hard to call a 19yo, in his rookie year, a bust. At least let him go through waivers at least once.

He will be asking for a raise soon ALSO may I remind you the amount of money we will have next UFA season to sign some really great players

I'd rather keep him for this season, and if needed trade him at next years trade deadline, where he could fetch an arm and a leg. teams get desperate for impact players the tdl. look what minny gave for hanzal at last years tdl, or how sj gave away their top prospect to vancouver for a 3rd line winger; hansen. yeah he's a ufa, but he can fetch a whole lot at that time. imo he will get traded eventually, as habs management is trying to get the team younger and more talented like the addition of Drouin, playing Hudon, Mete etc.

Problem is Jarmo wouldn’t.
