Take away Jost and the 1st and you might have an equal deal.
Price makes Number 1 center money... no one wants that contract.

Horrible return for Habs in this scenario. Johnson is 30 and RW. Will he be 3rd pairing? Habs probably can't trade Weber (unless it's a shitty return or you attach a 1st rnd pick to him). Petry shitty contract and his NMC makes it difficult to move also. You re getting a 2019 1st...if its a 2018 then it's better, but for all I know Avs could be a playoff team with Price next year and that pick becomes a low pick. Jost is supposed to be good, I guess he can be used as a trading chip for someone already established. Don't like sorry bro

Stop with the Carey Price to Colorado crap, Carey Price wont go to a rebuilding team and besides Joe Sakic wants a younger team not an aging soon to be overpaid Carey Price.

Hard to disagree with would Larkinisking said. Montreal might have regrets about signing Price to a contract 20% than the next highest paid goalie. I know Price must like the upcoming money, but in time I wonder. if he wishes he had just signed as a UFA next summer and a cheaper salary to a team/place you would prefer to play/live. Same with Eichel, the new contact is great, but I wonder how happy is in really going to be with the Sabres.
