Drake Batherson and Josh Norris also spent a lot of their childhood in Germany while their fathers played in the DEL.

There have been quite a few really good German players coming in to the NHL now.

The 2020s are going to see Germany raise its profile on the international level similar to how the 2010s saw Finland go from a really good 2nd tier nation to being a top three hockey program internationally.

It won't be long before Germany is ranking higher than the Czechs and the Slovaks.
