Why would buffalo want Craig smith? Also, as he is a guy making more than his cap hit, that's not a selling point. And the second seems high.

MAX Eichel offer before surgery
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AHickman95</b></div><div>First, have any players of Eichel's caliber done fusion surgery on their necks? I'd understand if it was in the back. Losing a bit of movement/flexibility in one portion of the back is not as big of a deal as it is in the neck.
Second, if surgeries to fix the herniated discs in NHL players are so routine, then why do the Sabres have such a risk management mindset that they want to maximize their return for him in a trade before he even gets a surgery? But seriously, injuries happen. It happened to Buffalo's star player. Both the team and the player seem to want to part ways. But the Sabres seems to be demanding that any trade partner is the one who needs to assume all the risk for the injured player. But he's a Sabres player, and the Sabres should have to assume the risk. Either let him get the surgery & trade him for the higher asking price after he fully returns to form (with the risk of him never returning to form), or trade him prior to surgery for much less than said higher asking price because his future capabilities are still somewhat in question. Those are the options. Instead, they're asking for the best of both options, which would leave their trade partner taking on all the risk.
Right now, the Sabres are sending complete opposite messages. The return for which they are asking in a trade is essentially based on the expectation of a 100% recovery to his previous playing form. But how they're dealing with the surgery situation indicates they are not confident enough in a 100% recovery to trade him at the end of his post-op recovery.</div></div>
All of this plus the fact that Eichel's NMC kicks in after the 21-22 season which means that he can select any number of teams to waive his NMC for thus further limiting Buffalo's options. So the way I see it Buffalo is running out of time. They need to decide if they are going to sell lower right now, wait and let him have his preferred surgery and recover then sell high later in the season or at the TDL, or wait until next offseason or later and have Eichel choose one or two teams to waive for thus lowering his value significantly. Personally if it is me I would choose option 2 but I am not Adams so who knows what he will choose. I guarantee though if they pass the TDL and Eichel has not been traded the Sabres will get less value than they did with O'Reilly.

Apparently, CBJ are actively trying to get rid of Domi. No takers.
Byron and Domi are out for the same length of time. Domi and Byron will make the same amount of money roughly, although in Byron's case, it is over 2 years. CBJ have no real spot for Domi, however, Byron could be useful as bottom 6 guy, plus a 3rd and 7th.

Listen to the Elliot Freidman podcast link I posted above. He is talking to the surgeon and the surgeon himself says 70 of NFL players who have had the surgery have been able to return to the NFL that literally means 30% don't return!

Anderson isn't a cap dump, Farrell is not an unknown prospect he is actually quite known since he has put up 101 this past season in the USDHL. Just cause Montreal drafted him before he became a known player doesn't make him less valuable. Any Yes that is the most I would give up since there is a 30% chance he never returns to the NHL (based on the comments made by his Dr. With Eliot Freidman. Read description above for more details)

I'm pretty sure the artificial disc deplacement has never been done in the NHL. Thats what all the reports i've read said. Fusions yes, but the the full replacement.
Anways, no team is going to pay Buffalo their asking price with his health being this big of a concern. The gamble is way too big. There has to be some type of discount when you're adding health into the equation.

Fusion is not replacement surgery, go find the interview EF did with the Surgeon. He literally says that NO NHL player has ever had ADR but many NFL stars have and 70% of those have returned to the NFL since that is the closest comparison then you have to assume that the same rate would apply to players returning to the NHL. That means Eichel has a 70% chance of returning to the NHL and a 30% of never returning. Here is the link to the interveiw listen for yourself.

LMAO you realize I gave you 4 forwards and 0 defensemen right! In fact I sent 3 F under 28 y.o. and 2 are centers. It wouldn't have to be top 10 protected as Montreal is a playoff team with or without Eichel.

This is a phenomenal signing. He was the best D in the KHL last year, and he’ll be a good offensive 6th/7th D. The habs need RHD, especially offensive ones badly.

Do the whole "look man, you got one shot at playing for your childhood team, a team with a wide open window for Stanley Cup runs, making tons of money, all at the same time. But to afford other players that will help us win, you'll have to take 8.5Mil instead off 11. Our ownership will work their tails off to help line up sponsorships for you if you want, but I can't give you over 8.5Mil, cuz then Nylander would want 6.5-7Mil, Matthews will want 10.5+ and so will Marner. We can't build a team around that kind of salary going to 4 guys when we have a superstar defenseman and an elite goalie. Just won't work. Do you want to be another guy who made a lot of money playing hockey? Or do you want to be the guy who led by example, took way less money than they could to play for their childhood team and led them to multiple Stanley Cup Championships? The time to decide on your legacy, begins now."</div></div>
Would of gave him 9.1M with a lot of bonuses, a MNC and guaranteed captaincy and used your arguments.

I would like to know what is the Chaykaplan. Trading a 7th pick overall when you are rebuilding. Trading domi for Chucky. 1 year late, trade Chucky + their 2017 1st pick for 33 years old Kessel. Strome and Perlini to CHI. I'm not saying all his move are bad, but they are often hard to get (like when Chiarelli sign koskinen that was an "hard to understant move" for exemple). Their is more involved than pure logic.
