****. I totally forgot about the Hoffman/Karlsson saga! The proposal (with players) is a no-go indeed!

Take out the 11th overall San Jose is giving up and deal. Mailloux has little value around the league with what he has done and Mike Hoffman isn't going to be on the same team as Karlsson.

A lot of Sharks fan are angry that we're not rebuilding. I do agree though, a deal around Meier for the 2nd overall would be a great start, but if I were you guys I'd just keep the pick and draft Slaf

Likely 2022-23 Roster
SJ can afford to wait. Edm gets off to a bad start and Holland or someone else panics, worst case SJ waives him again and somebody claims the whole contract. Better than retaining

Likely 2022-23 Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArmchairGM14</b></div><div>Don't you think a 2nd and 5th round pick would be more enticing to take to retain 2 mil x 3 years rather then waiving and receiving no compensation? There is also no certainty that he gets claimed and he gets sent back to the minors where they are covering the cost of the whole contract. They would also not want him anywhere near their NHL or AHL team.</div></div>
When they sent him to the mimors before they told him to stay home. could do the same thing now. Edmonton thinks SJ has to trade him only to them. 6M in retention for 2 middling picks or having a clean book. Not sure the clean book is not better considering where SJ is.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MakeMarnerACentre</b></div><div>robertson is gonna be a 30 goal guy in this league at his peak but go off</div></div>
then why are you trading him? I don't know many GM's who would trade a potential 30 goal guy for a goalie.
"All signs were pointing to him playing in the NHL full time in a top-six role, and then injuries derailed those aspirations. The long list of injuries the 20-year-old has already endured include a wrist, ribs, knee, and a fractured fibula. Robertson suffered the broken leg in his second game of this season in the AHL and was out until February. He returned to the Marlies and recorded six points in seven games before being recalled to the NHL. He played the next nine games with the Leafs but had just one goal and was returned to the AHL"
even if he had 30 goal potential, the injuries hes already endured before age 20 tells me his career will be cut short by injuries.
sharks cant succeed with so many undersized forwards and ned bigger guys to protect the smaller forwards they already have.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bluspy88</b></div><div>Thank you for input on the young players. That is really the biggest challenge for me when I do neutral teams, I don't know the prospects well enough. You can scratch the bottom 6 players in that case, that is my mind sort of plugging holes due to lack of infortmation.
As for Burns, I'm not arguing here that he SHOULD be traded nor do I claim to say the return is ideal. Honestly most interested in if the location is a fit, I think on this site we all don't really know what the trade returns will be because GMs are kinda crazy.</div></div>
Ideally Burns stays. Not many sharks fans feel his contract is bad. If we're moving a high priced RHD it should definitely be Karlsson.
Sharks won't be retaining much more than a mil on Burns, he is very much worth his cap hit.

Would take a really stupid GM to retain 7.5 mil over three years. Burns is still good, that much retention is not necessary.
Why are you retaining on Reimer and only getting a 3rd back?
This is a terrible ACGM for SJ.

Please move Karlsson. Burns has outperformed him in every category since the trade. Karlsson is too injury prone and always sounds like a big baby in press conferences. Burns>>>Karlsson all day.

The sharks cannot afford this retention. Also he was still top 15 in points for a dman this year and has improved everywhere else. We cannot retain on him and we won't pay to trade him as we don't even want to trade him. No retention a solid RD and a pick or two could pry him. But that's it. Sharks owner wants to compete and this negates that.
