I haven’t seen that anywhere. I’ve only seen where he would potentially accept a trade too. There isn’t anymore information after that. It isn’t just Dallas and Detroit. Florida, Nashville and Vegas are also on his list. I don’t see us trading him to a division rival anyways.

He doesn't like handing out 7/8 year deals as they rarely turn out good and doesn't want to hamper his team. I think between Ottawas asking prices and Steve not wanting to give ABD the contract he wants, wings are out. He is pretty dead set on building through the draft and filling some gaps via free agency until the kids are ready. He's not feeling any pressure to make a trade and playoffs would be nice, but not necessarily what needs to happen. Wants the improvement to be from the young nucleus and continue building the core around Larkin. Not saying it's a no, but just sounded like he splashed cold water on any big moves</div></div>
Thanks for the insight!

Necas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Ok, this is another reason not to trust the idiots that charitably donate their foolish ideologies on Twitter of all places. I know you have already heard all the reasons as to why Necas straight up holds more value than ADB at this point, so I won’t bore you by sounding like a broken record here.
That being said, Ottawa is going to find it very hard to even get a return investment. And you can forget about getting a net positive return, since it won’t happen without a lot of blackmail. I mean, Ottawa is on the doomsday clock with ADB. They have until the end of the first round of the draft to move him, or else the risk of losing him for even less than whatever offers they had, to even nothing, becomes a lot higher. I get the risk of an offer sheet is low, but if that deadline comes to pass, and ADB is still with Ottawa after the first round, I would imagine a bunch of the league starts thinking offer sheet. A 1 year deal, lower than the 6.1mil that would net a 1st and 3rd, with the picks being in 2024? And Ottawa’s choice then would be to take the underpayment or lose ADB for nothing. Just a hypothetical scenario that I think could realistically happen, but I will just leave it at the clock is ticking.</div></div>
Many teams are interested we could absolutely get a decent return. We can’t act like there aren’t a plethora of teams that wouldn’t want a 25 year old sniper that had a “down year” because an AHL head coach was behind the bench. He submitted a 10 team trade list. Dorion has 10 teams to work with. We will 100% get a good return. Of course you could make up all those possible scenarios about an offer sheet but from my understanding DeBrincat would be happy to sign longterm with any of the given teams on his list. It’s also worth mentioning that this years UFA class is weak. Teams will be looking to trade for a star like DeBrincat as they won’t find that level of offence anywhere in free agency this year. People really need to reevaluate how much a 25 year old past 40 goal scorer is worth imo.

Yet you're trying to downplay that...</div></div>
Also might be worth mentioning that DeBrincat has missed only four games over the past three seasons. With Pacioretty being out most of the year a guy like DeBrincat in that slot might have pushed y’all over the panthers. Obviously him and Svechnikov bring out really hurt but having someone you know will play 80 games is definitely something

I’m really not. Like I said I found this idea on Twitter. I obviously haven’t thought the trade through as thoroughly as you have. But the canes need a legitimate sniper. I probably should have added Lassi Thomson to the deal as well. But I really think the canes would consider something similar to this if they are truly looking for a sniper. I really think DeBrincat would also take a pay cut to play for a team that has gotten close to winning it all. DrBrincat-Aho-Svechnikov would be crazy. I honestly think DeBrincat would score 50 at least once if paired with them.

You’re entitled to what you believe but you are really underestimating how much a 25 year old DeBrincat is worth. If you didn’t watch the Sens I don’t expect you to understand. I’m telling you now we didn’t use him well at all. Never fed him on the PP. played with Stützle for like 8 minutes all year and didn’t have Norris at all. His line dumped the puck all the time. If a team is trading for him they know they can get way more out of him. I guarantee that was that fans thought process.

Not a DeBrincat with diminished value</div></div>
Also that Tkachuk take is brutal. You have to realize that his value is still very high. Anyone that is trading for him scouted him last year and most likely realized that our dumb coach didn’t use him to his potential at all. Your team is trading for a proven 35-40 goal scorer. Necas had a great season but will he replicate it? DeBrincat had 66 points while dumping the puck 70% of the time. He will certainly thrive elsewhere.

I have no idea what Carolina is doing. Like I said to a canes fan that responded I saw this idea from a canes fan on Twitter. I think they want a legitimate sniper from what I’ve read. I personally don’t want to spend big bucks on a goalie. So damn unpredictable. Look at Gus. I’d much rather add more depth in case of an injury. Domi is very versatile. I trust Forsberg and Sogaard with our d-core improving since the beginning of last season.

I saw a canes fan propose a trade like this. Which gave me the idea. It was something like DeBrincat+ Brannstrom for necas, Suzuki and the 1st.

100%. The fact that Pierre got a 2nd was great. We knew he wasn’t staying past next season. Who knows if he resigns with Washington too. Plus there was really no space. There’s no chance that Joseph, Formenton or pinto would play on the 4th line

Come on man Giroux is a way bette player then Brown.if you think about it we replaced brown with Giroux and got a 2nd. That’s amazing. We wouldn’t have been able to pay brown what he wanted next offseason. Also the fact that he has one year left decreased his value a bit. Dorion made two fantastic over the past week. Even as a rental there’s no space for him tbh. Looking at the lineup above everyone but Sokolov and Greig should be in the lineup. Where Giroux is placed will be a legitimate top 6 forward (hopefully) like Giroux , Fiala, Burakovsky, Etc. Watson likely has locked up that bottom line rw spot. I think whitey will be back. Just no space at all. Maybe Vegas will move him and a pick to Arizona?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sr_Advisor_Hockey_Ops</b></div><div>The longer Giroux's contract, the lower the AAV. I could see him at 3 x $5m, not 7. I also think Connor Brown is going to be traded at the TDL like Nick Paul was this year. Giroux 5 and no Connor Brown creates nearly $6m in cap space.
Personally, I would offer Giroux 1 year at 7, so he can chase the Cup again as a rental. In fact, rather than offering UFA Giroux, I would prefer offering the 2022 # 7 overall pick to Carolina for RFA Martin Necas or to VGK for RFA Nicolas Roy, (Carolina and Vegas must know that both players are prime candidates for an offer sheet of 5 years $4.2 million with a 2023 2nd Rd pick as compensation).
Come to think of it, how about keep the #7 pick and trade Connor Brown to cap-squeezed VGK for Nicolas Roy and Evgeni Dadanov? You could then trade Dadanov, either to Arizona as a camp dump or at the TDL as a rental.</div></div>
A few things. If we are being honest do we really expect Giroux to come here at anything less then that? Unless he really wants to come home I don’t see him taking anything less. I personally don’t like the idea of trading Connor brown. He is so important defensively he’s almost underrated league wide. The amount of chances he creates is wild too. Especially shorthanded. He’s a true X factor imo and the perfect 3rd liner. Can definitely score 20 when we are contending. I would go after Roy with an offer sheet but definitely not pick 7. He only had 39 points… At pick 7 we could take a difference maker. I would trade pick 7 for Fiala for sure though. If Vegas wanted to trade marchessault and Roy for like pick 7, Brannstrom and another prospect I’d be down. But definitely not Dadonov and Roy. Dadonov just didn’t work here.

Brown is way better then Comtois. I would never do that trade for Comtois tbh. Brown is in his prime and one of the best penalty killers I’ve seen. He’s also a better playmaker then given credit for. Anaheim would have to be fools to not except that. Especially since Comtois has struggled imo
