Ottawa Senators signed Claude Giroux (3 Years / $6,500,000 AAV)
This seems like a very solid deal. Low AAV for a player like Giroux and gives Ottawa many options now.

OK
Dont know what Dorion was thinking there.

Very fair trade, slight edge to COL for the cap savings.

Philadelphia Flyers signed Joel Farabee (6 Years / $5,000,000 AAV)
Farabee is already one of the best forwards on the flyers. Great deal for him and the team.

Philadelphia Flyers signed Sean Couturier (8 Years / $7,750,000 AAV)
This is a steal right now. Not sure about the last couple years.
Overall it's a solid signing.

Huge for Dallas, but a steep price to pay.

(FLA/CHI) - Connolly, Stillman, Borgström for Carlsson, Wallmark
Florida wins big here just because they got rid of Connolly's cap hit.
Borgstrom is a decent prospect, but he already left Florida and was unlikely to come back.
This might be a win for both teams in the long future, but I'm saying Florida wins this hands down short term.

Montour is one of the worst defensemen in the league . Buffalo wins just by getting him off their roster

I don't understand how the voting is so lopsided... seems like a pretty even deal.

Winnipeg Jets signed Blake Wheeler (5 Years / $8,250,000 AAV)
Big AAV, but he's clearly the heart and soul of this team. Short term crunch on the Jets and I have a feeling this hurts when he's 36/37 too.
If they win the Cup it's worth it though.

Ottawa Senators signed Mark Stone (1 Year / $7,350,000 AAV)
So he is going to be UFA next summer, plus he cannot sign an extension before Jan 1st 2019... IMO this is looking really bad for Ottawa.
Let's keep in mind that :
- Karlsson's situation is not looking good.
- If Ceci gets a 1 year deal, he can go to arb next year then go UFA on July 2020.
- Duchene is UFA.
- Anderson wants out.
- And now Stone is UFA...
What a mess this has become.

Lmao you're spending over $9 million on your fourth line for the next two seasons. Plus that ridiculous Komarov contract for four years.

San Jose Sharks signed Evander Kane (7 Years / $7,000,000 AAV)
This is a good deal for Evander Kane! I really do want SJS to do well, their fans deserve it for sure. This is way too much money for his services. I don't see how they can be happy. He got an extra ~$1.5M - $2M for a truly solid 2.5 weeks from Feb 27th to March 16th racking up points 10 points in 8 games against clearly top opponents like EDM, CHI, CGY, DET. He's a fine player, both sides are better off together vs apart, but he's not worth $7M a year...not worth $6M a year.

I know that San Jose had a lot of cap space, and Kane was an upcoming UFA in a shallow market, but man, that is a lot of money to commit to a player who's never hit 60 points.
