Going into Next Season
I love Foegele but paying him over 3Milto play on your third line absolutely cannot happen. money would be spent better elsewhere.

if they're not trading their core I'm sure they will still want to stay semi-competitive. they wont blow it up if Malkin and Crosby decide to stay.

if it was this move or nothing what would you do? I'm fine with the overpay if it makes the Oilers better. they're in all or nothing territory now.

could take the 3rd from the Ottawa deal and give it to Chicago. I didn't know Sens fans wanted to just give away Kubalik lol

why wouldn't he? Tanev is the upgrade over Ceci and Carriere is an upgrade over Desharnais. give Carriere an extension as i assume he will cost roughly around the 3.5mil mark that Ceci was at.</div></div>

Un-Educated Oilers TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>It's not bad for a non-fan, actually!
I would say Carrier is not an upgrade on Ceci and Edmonton has already said they aren't trading Broberg for a rental, so that trade doesn't seem realistic.</div></div>
I'm an Oiler fan and I wouldn't do the Ceci/Broberg trade in a vacuum but paired with the addition of Tanev I would do it with replacing Broberg with that 2026 1st or another prospect. these pairings drastically upgrade your D core AND you get out of Campbell's contract in the Mantha deal

This is a lot to give up for marginal improvements this year, at the value you've given up why don't we just go big game hunting for someone with term?</div></div>
marginal improvements is what this team needs. our 4th line is a black hole right now and will get caved in the playoffs without an upgrade.

the argument will be "if you're giving up a 1st and a prospect go get a 1st line guy" but this seems like a Holland move to grab a solid winger with term

i dont know where you are getting this rival tax from. Vancouver has made 2 trades with Calgary and has paid market value for both. this narrative of a rival tax is laughable.
