Boston doesn’t need Dvorak. He’s a proper 3C, but the bruins have plenty of that. And the price tag is kind of steep. Montreal may have overpaid, but that doesn’t mean other teams will.
Also, bruins and canadiens do not trade.
Also think edmonton passes on that. Dangerous contract.

They could send another asset and move JVR or something to make some extra space. The point being getting a top end talent like Marner would be great for their team if this is all it cost to get him.

Excellent target would be huge win if can swing it. Sadly he doesn’t get the respect he should always being connected to the trade with hall. Hell of a player I will always miss in Edmonton.

As an oiler fan who absolutely loved Larsson I will say he seems like a guy that stability is important and doesn’t want to bounce around. He choose Seattle he got clauses to insure that stability. I’d be blown away if he was moved in the next 2-3 years.

They absolutely would find a way to get Marner if all it took was this. A defenceman who can't stay healthy with major term left and a guy doesn't matter for a top 5 RW is a huge win.

On paper it’s decent, on ice it’s ****. Drouin Caufield Anderson Hoffman Gallagher can’t play defense. Dvorak Toffoli are too slow. Chiarot & Edmundson are #4 dman. Weber wasn’t good in the regular season last year, only decent in the playoffs. Petry is the only really good dman when paired with Edmundson or Kulak (if we don’t consider this year). Romanov is good, I think he is underrated. Savard is a #5-6. Suzuki is great but not Elite, Dvorak is a 3C so we are missing a 2C but that 4th line is amazing. Goaltending is Elite

Didn't want to ruffle any feathers by being negative on here, but you're pretty spot on here...only thing I'd disagree with is the "elite" goaltending...both Price and Allen have been below league average in 4 of the past 5 seasons. Yes, great playoff run for Price, but when it comes down to it, this is a fringy wildcard team at best.
*Please note*: This isn't meant as a dump on the Habs post! Just my observations. Cheers!

For sure, they need to get a worthwhile offer. I understand that they may need to give him a change of scenery after the season but that's a different story.

I understand that a lot of Leaf fans think getting rid of Marner would be addition by subtraction, and while that might be true, I have to laugh at all these ACGMs selling him and bringing back the same D core. For me, TOR’s only real weakness is the 2RD position. I don’t think it would be necessarily to move an elite piece to upgrade that, Mrazek, Kerfoot & Holl would come to mind first.

Should the Leafs nab Kane plus TDL move
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Barilko14</b></div><div>On one hand, Kane seems like an idiot who at 30 years old, hasn't grown up yet.
On the other hand, he's still a guy that could put up 30/30, and is twice (three times) the player Dubas was hoping to get when they signed Ritchie.
Considering Simmonds is a member of the Hockey Diversity Alliance with Kane, I'm assuming he'd know him better than most. I'm also assuming Dubas would get Simmonds two cents if he were consicering signing him.
If the Leafs were to sign him for $1Mish or less, I'd be OK with it knowing Dubas figures the risk is worth it.</div></div>
I mean, its worth a gamble, but ya gotta way the pros and cons and think about how the others on the team may feel about getting him. You make a good point about Simmonds, which I completely forgot about, but I also wonder if they do bring in Kane, will JT lay down the rules with him, making sure he isn't a distraction to the team as they push for the playoffs. JT may be quiet, but I get the feeling he's a no-nonsense type of captain, and someone who will reel in Kane from his antics, or at least try to.

Alert to all Leafs fans:
Any Chychrun trade will more than likely start with Rasmus Sandin as the main piece. There's no way around that. If you want something good, you have to offer something good in return.
If Toronto is to meet Arizona's reported price, it'll likely look more like
:mapleleafs
Jakob Chychrun
Arizona 2022 3rd round pick
:coyotes
Rasmus Sandin
Matthew Knies
Toronto 2022 1st round pick
Toronto 2023 2nd round pick (conditional to a 1st if Toronto wins the cup)
Which if I'm Toronto, I'm not touching that deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Barilko14</b></div><div>Exactly.
Leafs could have a very good LW group within a couple of years of Bunting, Robertson, Amirov and Knies and it would cost them likely $6M or less. All 3 of the prospects are looking like surefire NHL locks (barring injuries/more injuries). If they can have some playoff success, they still have work to do this summer (Campbell, Mrazek, Ritchie, etc.), but past that, if they give out the right term to their RFAs, they can be in solid shape for awhile, in terms of prospects/youth replacing vets and good amount of cap flexibility.</div></div>
Most of the times when I'm doing these ACGM stuff, its because i see trade rumours going around on social media, and would be curious as to how they would work out, plus, to see others reactions. Would I want Klingberg? Yeah obviously, but I wouldn't do the trade above, hence why I don't believe the leafs should be targeting big names like Klingberg, Chychrun, Hertl, etc...
Cost will be way too expensive and in years to come when Marner, Matthews, Tavares and Nylander's contracts are up, you gotta have potential replacements on the ready

I think at that type of deal that Toronto is better to hold onto those players (although the value is a bit light for Chychrun).
Kerfoot has proven to be a valuable depth piece and is producing at a pretty good clip this season along with doing a lot of other things well. & I think the Leafs are extremely high on Matt Knies and he could he up being the steal of his draft. Idk how he fell to the second round but he could be the power forward that they've been long looking for since Tucker left.
You've also added another left handed defenceman when the team already has a bunch of them. Acquiring Chychrun without including Sandin going to Arizona only holds back Sandin's development and the Leafs are very high on him. I doubt Toronto is seriously in the mix for Chychrun because of that, they may kick the tires on him just to see - but when Arizona undoubtedly asks for Sandin I think Toronto walks away

Klingberg would be a wonderful add. Its just that the Leafs really aren't in a position to add a player of that magnitude with their cap situation and a depleted draft capital pool. At some point, you have to consider the future.
Its probably best to let someone else overspend on Klingberg. Because it will happen. I am certain of that.</div></div>
tbh with ya, I'm in the same boat when it comes to thinking about the future. Yeah, id be happy with having Klingberg, but id be more intrigued with a Scott Mayfield or a Ben Chariot, as they come at a cheaper expense, that way, we hold on to the future's. Its only a matter of time before the likes of Robertson, Amirov, Niemela and Knies joins the team

Both Holl and Muzzin struggled this year. Both could be injury related, so the next 10-15 games will show if they can continue to handle those tough minutes.
If not, then the Leafs can use either another Brodie type to play with Muzzin, or a Manson type to play with Rielly and then Brodie can pair up with Muzzin.
Either way, they don't need a Klingberg type that they have to worry about if he's out there vs Kucherov, Barkov, etc.</div></div>
Exactly!

It funny how someone starts saying Klingberg to the leafs and everyone starts making trades for him. The leafs need a physical shutdown RD for the PK. A physical LW in the top six would be nice as well.
